Competitions
In addition to competitions for schoolchildren who enjoy physics, the DPG also offers competitions which are more aimed at physics students. There are also competitions from other organisations which the DPG supports as a physics driving society.
German Young Physicists' Tournament
Since 2014, the team representing Germany at the International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT) has been determined in a separate national competition. The GYPT is organised by the DPG. PiA - Physics in Advent
Since 2013, a very special kind of Advent calendar has been held annually during the Advent season: a physical Advent calendar. PLANCKS
PLANCKS is an annual international physics competition for physics students. It is a four-hour exam in which 10 theoretical physics problems are solved in a team of up to four students. The aim of the event is also the international exchange among the participants as well as getting to know the research institutions on site. MNU's nationwide physics competition aims to encourage pupils to deal with physical topics, some of which go beyond the topics dealt with in class. German Physicists' Tournament
The German Physicists' Tournament (GPT) is a nationwide physics competition for physics students from all over Germany who like to experiment. Within several "Physics Fights" teams of students discuss problems from different fields of physics and gain points from an independent jury.
