Medal for scientific journalism
Since 1985, the DPG has awarded the Medal for Scientific Journalism to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the dissemination, communication and anchoring of scientific and physical thinking in our society through their journalistic and journalistic achievements.

The award consists of a silver medal and a certificate and is regularly presented on DPG Day in the second week of November.
Previous award winners include FAZ science journalist Günter Paul, ZDF journalist Hildegard Werth, "Sendung mit der Maus," science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar, "Löwenzahn" host Peter Lustig, and astrophysicist and TV host Harald Lesch.
