Physikalische Gesellschaft zu Berlin (PGzB)
The Physikalische Gesellschaft zu Berlin (PGzB), founded in 1845, is one of the oldest scientific associations in Germany.
The PGzB is an independent association with a non-profit claim, but also a regional association of the DPG. It is dedicated to the dissemination of physical research and teaching, e.g. through regular lecture events, among which the Max-von-Laue Colloquia have attained the highest importance, as well as by awarding various prizes to outstanding physicists.
