We are young academics from all over Germany. Our interdisciplinary working group „AG young Leaders in Physics“ (AGyouLeaP) aims to foster and strengthen the visibility, the networking, and the scientific independence of our status group. AG youLeaP is open to every DPG member, but primarily focuses on young academics with PhD which are following, or starting to follow, an independent research agenda and are supervising own research groups. This includes junior professors (with or without tenure-track), fixed-term professors, junior research group leaders (DFG Emmy Noether Group, BMBF Junior Research Group, Max Planck Research Groups, or similar), Habilitand*innen as well as Habilitierte, and experienced Postdocs across all associations within DPG.  AGyouLeaP offers a platform to exchange ideas about current research fields, but also addresses challenges young academics are faced with, when establishing and heading their own research group.  We want to provide a platform for exchange on the latest research topics and on the challenges of leading a junior research group.

The AGyouLeaP focuses on the following objectives:

• Foster exchange by offering networking activities within the AG
• Increase visibility of young academics by fostering contributions to the scientific program of DPG meetings in collaboration with the section speakers
• Strengthen competences for career planning by sharing experiences with senior DPG members
• Representing challenges and needs of junior researcher group leaders in DPG politics
