Covid Infos
Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic has still not left us yet. Nevertheless, we want to celebrate PLANCKS (at least partially) in-person with you in Munich. On this page, we have summarised the most important information concerning Covid restriction which might affect the event. Please heed: all information is as of early April!
Please check in advance of travel that you can enter Germany (possibly PCR tested) for instance on the website of the Federal Foreign Office. You might also have to visit this website to apply for a visa if necessary. Also, keep in mind to check travel restrictions from Germany to your home country to guarantee that you can return there after PLANCKS ends!
Some months ago, the German government has published their long term Covid strategy. With this strategy, they aim to allow large-scale events again, given a stable pandemic situation. Despite the plans to drop restrictions, it is not unlikely that there will remain several rules to respect. These could include:
- masks should be worn in each occasion when they are needed
- FFP2 masks are considered as the mask standard
- for large-scale events 2G is necessary
Accordingly, also PLANCKS 2022 takes place as a 2G event. You fulfil the 2G condition if you are either:
- doubly vaccinated + Booster shot
- doubly vaccinated with the 2nd dose within the last 270 days
- recovered within the last 90 days
Please take into account: one dosis of Johnson&Johnson/Janssen does not suffuce to be considered as doubly vaccinated! Generally, vaccinations only count if they are recognized in Germany and if the activation time of 14 days has passed. Recognized vaccinations are currently (status: beginning of April):
- BioNTech/Pfizer
- Moderna
- AstraZeneca
- Novavax
- Johnson&Johnson / Janssen (with the restrictions above)
Unfortunately, the precise extent of the Covid restrictions during the event is still difficult to predict from the prespective of early April. Therefore, we recommend you to inform you about up-to-date rules via the website of the city.
Personally, we encourage you to get a booster vaccination as soon as possible as well as an accepted COVID-19 health app because it facilitates every day procedures enourmously. This is important since vaccination loses validity after 270 days in the European Union.
