Introduction
The programme of the Energy Working Group (Arbeitskreis Energie, AKE) at the 2017 Conference of the German Physical Society in Münster encompassed energy technologies in geological, chemical and physical research, of engineering developments, renewable energy and storage systems as well as socioeconomic and (nuclear) safety and security aspects1.
