virtual DPG-Frühjahrstagungen (DPG Spring Meetings) 2021

Due to the cancellation of the DPG-Frühjahrstagungen (DPG Spring Meetings) 2020, the DPG has suffered a considerable loss of scientific exchange, also on an international level. The aim of the DPG was to be able to make this exchange, which is so important for science, possible again in 2021 through conferences.

The course of the corona pandemic also affected the organisation of the DPG-Tagungen (DPG Meetings): In spring 2021, four thematically different virtual conferences were held instead of face-to-face events.

The meetings of the SKM, SAMOP and SMuK sections, which were originally planned for spring, were postponed to late summer or autumn 2021. Further information can be found here.

In addition, the SMuK section, the Short Time-scale Physics and Applied Laser Physics division and the Plasma Physics divisions organised an online lectures that was especially aimed at young scientists.

After the great success in 2020, "semiconductors for breakfast" went into the second round in 2021. In the period from 15.03.-26.03.2021, an exciting lecture on a current topic in semiconductor physics was presented every day.
