Research Agenda: My group efforts are focused on coherent optical control of spin states in semiconductor nanostructures, spin-based quantum information processing, and non-perturbative spectroscopy techniques. Our expertise spans from the spectroscopy of single spin coherence to macroscopic ensembles' spectroscopic properties in continuous wave (spectroscopic domain) and in the pulsed regime (time-domain). We are interested in extending the quantum state coherence of the solid-state quantum bits with the possibility to provide a long-range spin-spin entanglement using an intrinsic coupling to photons. We are looking into the electron and hole spin states of self-assembled nanostructures and defect centers in various semiconductors and dielectric materials.

Short Bio: I received my Ph.D. in 2007 from the TU Dortmund (Germany) for the work on carrier spin coherence in low-dimensional semiconductor structures. After two years of postdoc in the group of Manfred Bayer at TU Dortmund, I joined the group of Daniel Gammon at the Naval Research Laboratory to continue my work on spins in semiconductors. In 2011 I returned to TU Dortmund as a postdoc and finished my Habilitation in 2016. Currently, I continue to work at TU Dortmund as a leading researcher, being a recipient of the Walter-Schottky-Prize 2012 and Karl-Arnold-Prize 2012.
