Research Agenda: Jozef Lengyel conducts research in the area of gas-phase chemistry of hydrated ions and clusters. His research aims at a better understanding of heterogeneous processes elucidating complex reaction mechanisms and solvation chemistry with a particular emphasis on atmospheric chemistry and catalysis. His current work involves the development of experimental methods for determining particle nucleation rates.
Short Bio: Jozef Lengyel studied chemistry in Bratislava and received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry jointly at the Heyrovský Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. He pursued his postdoctoral research at the University of Innsbruck (2016-2017) and then at TUM (2018-2020). In 2020 he has received funding from the German Research Foundation through the Emmy-Noether Program to establish an independent junior research group at TUM.
