Research Agenda: I conduct research in experimental semiconductor nanophotonics. I am currently interested in the realization of quantum light sources, based on semiconductor quantum dots, for quantum optics and quantum information applications. QDs emitting at telecom wavelength are at present in focus. Integrated optics on Si- and III-V platforms; classical light sources as all-silicon electrically pumped nano - LED based on photonic crystals; hybrid quantum systems as the ones based on the interface between quantum dots and alkali atoms are among my research interests. Techniques like spectroscopy of semiconductor nanostructures, nanofabrication, optical and electrical characterization, quantum optics techniques, cavity quantum electrodynamics are my typical research tools. Finally, I am particularly interested in advance nanofabrication techniques: I have been conducting research on deterministic lithography approaches, extending the performances to new wavelength and type of sources.

Short Bio: I am originally from the city of Pavia, in Italy, where I have studied and obtained my PhD in physics in 2012, working with Prof. Matteo Galli. During the PhD time, I have also been working in St. Andrews (Scotland) within the group of Prof. Thomas Krauss. The focus on my PhD was silicon photonic crystals, light emitting structures and nanofabrication. After graduating, I moved as post-doctoral researcher in Paris (France), within the group of Prof. Pascale Senellart (former LPN-CNRS, now C2N-CNRS). From 2014, I am group leader at the university of Stuttgart (Germany), working with Prof. Peter Michler. In Paris and Stuttgart my research activities were and are based on quantum optics with semiconductor quantum dots in a broad sense. I have been early career researchers at IQST. Since 2016 I have been the recipient of the Eliteprogramm der Baden-Württemberg Stiftung. I further received the French and Italian qualifications (for assistant and associate professorship respectively).
