Functional Materials in a new light
Experimental physicist Prof. Dr. Martina Müller told us about her research in her lecture "Functional Materials in a new light" on January 20, 2021.
Complex oxide materials are the focus of a variety of current research areas, such as nano-, spin- and optoelectronics. In particular, the integration of ferromagnetic and ferroelectric oxides into functional heterostructures offers exciting opportunities for future concepts in information processing and storage.
In this talk, examples were given to give an overview of the investigation of fundamental magnetic phenomena such as the generation of low-dimensional quantum electronic states to the targeted design of ferroelectric RAM prototypes.
